About the Role
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join us to help develop and grow Nuanced Bio. This is an operational and strategy-oriented role, designed to extend the capacity of our technical and executive teams. In this role, you will work on supporting the day-to-day operation of Nuanced Bio, and the longer term organisation scale-up.
Some examples of responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day operational support: Supporting day-to-day operations; office and procurement
- Supporting hiring and HR matters
- Team alignment and project management
- Preparation of strategic and board material
- Supporting IP filing and other legal responsibilities
- Longer-term organisational scale-up: Supporting fundraising efforts (VC, strategic grants)
- Managing investor relations
- Support commercial workstreams and partner engagement
The role would suit a candidate who is interested in developing as an operational or strategic leader. The role will be based in our offices in Cambridge UK.
About you
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in:
- A fast-growing start up or scale up (Chief of Staff, Strategy, leadership role), or
- Consulting or investing background
- A corporate operational or strategic role
The ideal candidate will be:
- Trustworthy and of the utmost integrity
- Proactive, organised and have a strong sense of ownership
- Comfortable with quickly shifting demands and contexts
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information
- Have an in-depth understanding of start ups and the associated challenges
Desirable criteria:
- Hold a degree in Business, Economics, or a highly scientific or analytical field from a top-tier university
- Project management experience
- Previous fundraising experience and working closely with VCs
- Track record of scaling teams
- Strong scientific literacy
- An interest in building a life science business
