We\’re looking for an experienced Events Officer who wants to make a difference at a wonderful, sustainability-focused professional body, as part of a close-knit team. This is such a perfect opportunity for the right person. You\’ll lead the events programme, so will need to be able to work autonomously but with lots of support on hand, should you need.
As the successful Events Officer, you\’ll benefit from hybrid working with 2 days a week in the central Bristol office and 3 days a week working from home. As you\’d expect, there is some UK travel required for this role. You\’ll attend 8-10 in-person events a year, some of which can be done in a day, some of which will require no more than 2 nights away.
What will give you the edge.
You need to have led the management of offline and online events from start to finish. As such you\’ll have experience of:
- Delegate management
- Booking venues, including contract negotiation
- Logistics
- Event timelines
- Creating project plans for events
You don\’t need budget management experience for this role, though you have the opportunity to progress and develop those skills, taking on budget responsibility once you\’re ready.

As the successful Event Officer, you\’ll lead the delivery of the entire events programme for the organisation. Whilst this is a big responsibility that requires an organised and proactive approach, you\’ll be well supported as part of a lovely team. An understanding or familiarity of membership organisations would stand you in good stead. You\’ll have a customer service led approach that prioritises the needs of the membership.
