The predicted salary is between 500 - 1500 Β£ per month.

To create, teach, lead, and manage the people responsible for bringing in the donations. Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and the general public. With your help we will be able to continue to detail what our services and activities are, and how they help our end users.

Your help and expertise will enable us to adapt and survive, to scope new possibilities, activities and ways of working. Our mission is to support, encourage and empower young people and their community to reach and fulfil their potential by tapping into resources that will allow young people to achieve, both economically, physically and educationally.

In turn, our work in creating community projects, referring young people into work placements and educational based courses and developing positive role models, will benefit their peers, family and their surrounding community, which will lead to safer neighbourhoods, higher attainment and a better environment to live in. Our fundraising activities will help us thrive and make our long term growth sustainable at a critical time.

You will help us reach out to the various volunteering communities to spread the word. Your networking and press contacts will help amplify the work already being done by an excellent team of volunteers.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience in a fundraising position, ideally with a background in Trust and Foundation fundraising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to target communications to different audiences
  • Experience leading on appeals and campaigns
  • Excellent people skills
  • Comfortable with data analysis, or willing to learn, and able to manage our fundraising database
  • Confident using a range of office equipment such as Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, comfortable with managing your own workload and self-directed time
  • Strong team player and aware of when to ask for help with workloads
  • Willing to learn new processes and get involved

What will you be doing? NU Start is seeking a dynamic and outgoing Fundraising Officer to support the organisation's ongoing strategy. We are looking for an individual who is enterprising, highly organised and an excellent communicator and who has a drive and passion to develop their skills in fundraising to benefit young people to lead successful, independent lives. This is an exciting time to join our friendly, high performing and ambitious organisation.

This role is integral; securing new partnerships and raising vital new income across London and beyond. With so much of this role depending on excellent account management, we need a real people-person, someone who considers themselves to be an excellent communicator, who can build relationships and craft compelling written narratives. You will generate a minimum of Β£50k a year from a range of donors, largely Trusts and Foundations, as well as Corporate Partners and key supporters.

Duties
  • Securing income
  • Lead on multiple fundraising efforts and workstreams to actuate the fundraising strategy, including applications, campaigns and account management.
  • Creating tailored applications to trusts and foundations, whilst working closely with colleagues to develop funding applications and programmes
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of funding opportunities and prospects
  • Steward individual donors and create campaigns and appeals to increase brand awareness and donations
  • Account manage corporate partners and work with the Partners Coordinator to increase corporate partners and cause-related marketing campaigns
  • Oversee and recruit fundraising volunteers to assist with delivering the fundraising pipeline
  • Ensure projects meet grant conditions, and income and expenditure are recorded for reporting purposes
  • Produce timely reports for donors, grant-givers and the trustees
  • Provide regular updates to funders on the impact of their donations
