Overview
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive People and Talent Assistant to join our growing People team. You will support both People Operations and Talent Acquisition, ensuring a smooth experience for candidates, new starters, and internal stakeholders. This is a six-month fixed-term role, created to provide additional support during a period of focused hiring, onboarding, and people initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the full employee lifecycle and make an impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Contract Type: Part-time with flexible working for six months, 25 hours per week across 5 days.

Nu Quantum is creating the Entanglement Fabric for quantum computing scale-out. Quantum computing can solve some of the world\βs biggest problems, but these applications require systems that are thousands of times more powerful than those available today. Our networking architecture will unlock data centre-scale quantum computing by weaving together quantum processors to accelerate the path to fault-tolerance and transformational utility. Founded in 2018, Nu Quantum is a spin-out of the University of Cambridge\\\βs Cavendish Laboratory.
What You\βll Be Doing
- Administrative support for handling and progressing applications for our roles, including job postings, communicating with candidates and coordinating online and onsite interviews
- Working as part of the People Team and collaborating with a variety of teams, including Hiring Managers and our Senior Leadership Team
- Interacting with onsite candidates face to face and ensuring a smooth interview experience, from the planning stage with logistics to coordinating on the day
- Supporting onboarding processes for new hires β scheduling welcome meetings, tracking onboarding checklists, and ensuring all documentation is completed
- Coordinating travel and accommodation booking needs for the People and Talent team
- Assisting with benefits administration by liaising with providers for routine updates and requests (e.g. sending forms, updating details)
- Supporting compliance tasks and maintaining accurate employee records
- Supporting offboarding activities, including scheduling exit interviews, collecting equipment, and ensuring leavers\\\β documentation is complete
- Maintaining tidy, organised digital filing systems
- Providing general HR support for ad-hoc projects or initiatives
Requirements
What we\\\βre looking for
- A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and prioritise time effectively
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate internally and externally with a positive \\\βcan do\\\β attitude with people every day
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and find solutions autonomously
- Experience with booking meetings/coordinating schedules and sending agendas
- Understanding of GDPR, recruitment and HR compliance with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information responsibly and discreetly with a high degree of trust
- Comfortable working in evolving settings with shifting demands and able to adapt
- Curious to learn more and make an impact as part of an exciting quantum computing scaleup
Desirable (nice To Have But Not Required)
- Experience working in a growing startup or scaleup and/or fast-paced environment
- Previous experience supporting recruitment (screening, interviewing)
- Ideally, has experience of using Workable (ATS) and HiBob (HRIS), as well as G-Suite (Docs, Meet, Calendar), or other similar systems
- Experience with onboarding processes
- Experience working with benefits administration
- Prior experience of being a point of contact for employees and answering queries
- Familiarity with UK employment practices and benefits administration
