My Client is a growing engineering business delivering advanced automated systems to a diverse industrial customer base. Due to continued project growth, they’re looking for an experienced individual.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of the design function — leading projects from concept to delivery, ensuring solutions are robust, compliant, on time and on budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring a team of design engineers
- Managing multiple live projects (£50k–£2m range)
- Driving technical excellence and “right first time” design
- Controlling budgets, timelines and resources
- Working cross-functionally with controls, software and operations teams
- Supporting customer-facing technical discussions when required
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)
- Proven experience leading design teams in automation or complex machinery
- Strong 3D CAD capability and commercial awareness
- A proactive problem solver with strong communication skills
- Passion for engineering innovation and continuous improvement
