We are seeking a trained Joiner to work 37.5 hours per week. The role offers potential for additional earnings, including weekend and on‑call enhancements, up to £2.5K. A £2.5K welcome bonus is also available. Applicants should hold an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Joinery.
Main Duties
- Plan and carry out preventive and reactive building maintenance duties.
- Complete minor and major refurbishment works across Trust properties.
- Manufacture items as required.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience in the service, maintenance, and repair of building installations and equipment.
Skills and Knowledge
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces according to specifications.
- Perform repairs or modifications on existing wooden structures.
- Use power tools and hand tools for woodworking.
- Apply joinery techniques and woodworking principles.
- Paint or finish wood surfaces.
- Lifting doors, windows, moving plant and materials, and manual digging as needed.
- Demonstrate good understanding of health & safety.
- Understand other trade specialisms.
- Work in confined spaces, at height, and in other challenging environments.
- Work on own initiative.
- Justify decisions and assume responsibility for actions.
Education and Qualifications
- Completed a recognised and registered indentured apprenticeship, with a City and Guilds Carpentry and Joinery certificate/NVQ Level 2/Level 3 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
Employment Information
All appointments will be under NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions, not NHS Agenda for Change terms. New starters not already in the NHS Pension scheme will be enrolled in a NEST pension. Subject to DBS clearance and completion of HMRC immigration status verification. Applicants who have had a previous application rejected within the past 12 months will not be processed.
