Job overview: We are appointing to the role of a Gardener to join our Estates Team at Hopewood Park Hospital. Advert: To undertake the repair, maintenance and inspection of all external grounds and gardens associated with the Trust and its external contracts. This would include grounds and gardens planting materials and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the external grounds of the site(s) provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff. Be expected to produce work to a consistently high standard of work across the whole range of duties and applications required. Shall be prepared to undertake additional training in order to fulfil the requirements of the post, satisfy new regulations/legislation or to further develop the duties. To participate in the out of hours and weekend on call rota, carrying out repairs gritting and snow clearing at designated owned or occupied Trust properties. To be flexible in the provision of cover when colleagues on the rota are unavailable (holidays/sickness). To participate in the Estates Department return to work system, this may necessitate returning to work to attend to emergency situations, which can’t be dealt with solely by the on-call craftsman. This will require the post holder to have their contact telephone number made available to the Estates on-call Officer.

All jobs will be appointed on the NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions and not NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. New starters who are not in the NHS Pension already will be enrolled into a NEST pension. Recruitment into NTW Solutions Limited will follow the principles of NHS Employer Check Standards and any relevant employment legislation.
