We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Facilities Team at Monkwearmouth Hospital. This post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday 7.5hrs per day on a 3‑week rota alongside current supervisors. Pay: Band B (£15.13 per hour) with a 25% enhancement for work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Main Duties
- Responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of a team of Soft FM staff.
- Provide advice and support to all wards and departments on an identified site, working with ward and departmental managers to ensure an effective Soft FM service is delivered.
- Support Assistant and Site Manager with team briefs.
- Maintain effective, efficient lines of communication and good relationships within the department and with all other service users.
- Provide and receive information to manage own job and communicate with all aspects of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Liaise with other Supervisors within the company.
- May be expected to supervise other areas of facilities.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience working with a wide range of staff and service users.
- Experience supervising staff in a cleaning, facilities or similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, manual handling and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and hygiene standards.
- Ability to lead and support a team effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to organise workloads and prioritise tasks.
- Basic IT skills for records and communication.
- Aware of NHS policies and procedures.
Education and Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required.
- Health and Safety qualification preferred.
