We are looking for a Porter to join our Facilities Team at Ferndene Children's Hospital, Prudhoe. This post will be offered as Full Time (37.5 hours per week), working Monday-Friday.
Main duties of the job:
- Our Porters carry out a wide range of tasks which makes the job interesting and varied.
- No two days are the same and because we provide services to the NHS you will play a role in supporting better care.
- The job includes collecting and moving items, disposing of waste, sorting and delivering post, and moving furniture.
- You’ll need to work flexibly and think on your feet as you solve problems and issues.
- You will also be responsible for driving various vehicles safely and you could be working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- There can be interaction with patients which requires awareness of safety and sensitivity to their needs.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys carrying out a diverse range of tasks.

Person specification:
- Experience using own initiative to work unsupervised.
- Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post, ability to read maps and use navigation devices, customer care skills.
- Education and Qualifications: Possess a full UK driving license which permits the driving of a 15 seat mini bus and long trailer (3.5 tonne maximum weight).
Various posts are subject to DBS clearance prior to commencement. To comply with Home Office Immigration Regulations all applicants must state their current immigration status, including expiry dates. Please note if you are external to the CNTW Group you will be subject to a six month probationary period.
