This is a leadership role with real impact, shaping the day to day experience of patients, staff and visitors across a wide range of facilities services. You will lead essential services including cleaning, patient meals, cafés, portering, laundry and linen, car parking, reception, security and switchboard. You will be the organisation’s expert in these areas, setting clear direction and ensuring services are welcoming, safe and reliable, while meeting all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and NHS standards.

Main duties include:

  • Accountability for the quality and performance of services delivered under contract, using data and insight to monitor outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leading a large and diverse workforce, creating a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment where people feel valued and able to do their best work.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are understood and applied consistently, while maintaining strong leadership visibility and clear expectations across teams.
  • Managing a significant multi million pound budget with sound financial planning and commercial awareness to ensure value for money and efficient use of resources, without compromising quality or safety.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, service redesign and smarter ways of working that improve outcomes and resilience.
  • Spotting and developing commercial opportunities, contributing to proposals and business cases that support longer term sustainability and growth.
