We are recruiting to the Team at St Georges Hospital to work within our friendly Catering Department.

This post is offered at 15 hours per week.

Saturday and Sunday every week.

Main duties of the job

  • Basic food preparation/packing and cleaning duties within a chilled environment.
  • Manual handling duties, including accepting and putting deliveries away, collecting items to prep & pack within a walk‑in freezer.
  • Work within a chilled and freezer environment.
  • Regeneration of patients’ food in a ward environment.
  • Pay

Band A (£12.92 per hour). Potential to earn more, with enhancements offered for weekend work.

Skills and Knowledge

  • An ability to communicate well with others such as other colleagues, clinical staff, or patients.
  • Able to work well as part of a team but also to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures and to accept and prioritise instructions.
  • Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety (training will be provided).

Experience

  • Any previous service industry experience (training will be provided if none).
  • Previous experience of stock control.

Qualifications

  • No formal qualifications required, but a certificate in hygiene is desirable. Training will be provided.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
