Catering Assistant

We are recruiting to the Team at St Georges Hospital to work within our friendly Catering Department.

These posts are offered at varies shifts Monday – Sunday between the hours of 09.50am – 17.50pm

Main duties of the job

Basic food preparation and cleaning duties within a chilled environment.

Putting deliveries away and collecting items to prep & pack within a walk in freezer

Working on a ward environment regening patient food and keeping kitchen clean & tidy

Pay: Band A (£12.51 per hour)

We are proud to be a Real Living Wage Employer, which means well top up your hourly salary to £12.60 per hour.

Person Specification

Skills and Knowledge

• An ability to communicate well with others such as other colleagues, clinical staff, or patients
• Able to work well as part of a team but also to work unsupervised
• Ability to adhere to standards and procedures and to accept and prioritise instructions
• Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety (but training will be given as part of your role)

Experience

• Experience of stock control

Qualifications

• You don\’t need any formal qualifications for this job, but a certificate in hygiene is desirable. You will be trained in food hygiene and health and safety as part of the role.
