NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EIB funded project called: JETP South Africa Transnet Decarbonisation Framework Loan and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.
Location: South Africa
Duration: Q3 2026
Non-Key Expert: Rails Scheme Lead (per Scheme)
Minimum Qualifications and skills:
- University degree in civil/electrical/mechanical engineering in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
- Proficiency in oral and written English language.
Minimum General & Specific professional experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in rail infrastructure, preferably freight, of which at least 3 years preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Working experience in South Africa is an added advantage.
- Involvement in a minimum of 2 preparatory studies (feasibility studies, detailed design, tender documentation) related to rail infrastructure in the past 10 years.
- Experience in freight rail that is carbon-friendly is considered as an advantage.
- Involvement in a minimum of 1 rail project in a developing country, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa, financed by EU, EIB or other IFI’s in the past 10 years.
