NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EU funded project called: EU assistance for the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030 and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project. The overall objective of this assignment is to contribute to the development of a sustainable market-oriented and inclusive agri-food system that will increase farm income, expand livelihood opportunities and enhance food security for smallholder farmers, women and the most vulnerable groups in Uzbekistan.

Location: Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Duration: The intended start date is 01 October 2026 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 48 months from this date.

Minimum Qualifications and skills:
  • Master's degree in agriculture, agri-economics, rural development, public policy, natural resource management, or a directly related discipline; or a Bachelor's degree in the same field plus four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of English (written and oral), minimum C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
  • Proficiency in Russian and/or Uzbek is an asset.
General professional experience:
  • At least 10 years of cumulative professional experience in agricultural development, agricultural policy or institutional reform, of which at least 2 years in a team leader role on agricultural development projects and managing a team of at least 10 people.
Specific professional experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in agricultural policy design and implementation and institutional capacity building, including work on at least two of the following: food safety, land use rights, agricultural subsidies, extension services, or public finance management.
  • Professional experience in Central Asia, Eastern Europe or the post-Soviet space is a significant asset.
  • Familiarity with the institutional context of Uzbekistan or a comparable country is valued.
