Role Purpose
The Global Head of Leadership Capability is a new role created to support the newly appointed Global Head of L&D and establish NTT DATA Inc. as the place where people grow by designing and scaling world‑class leadership capability and development experiences. This role will be the global steward of NTT DATA Inc.’s How We Lead principles — Inspire, Empower, Care — ensuring they are embedded in leadership capability frameworks, programmes, and people processes. The Global Head of Leadership Capability will make the Leader-as‑Coach philosophy the foundation of how we lead, while also evolving leadership mindsets for the AI age. This includes inspiring protagonism, fostering empowerment, and building leaders who create emotional connection, trust, and care. The successful candidate will design and deliver a comprehensive suite of leadership programmes — from global capstone academies to refreshed regional offerings — aligned to NTT’s culture, values, and CEO’s growth strategy. This person will lead a dedicated team, partner with global and regional stakeholders, and position NTT DATA Inc. as a global benchmark for leadership development in an AI‑enabled world.
Key Accountabilities
- Leadership Capability Framework & Culture – Define and embed an enterprise‑wide leadership capability framework that explicitly reflects NTT’s How We Lead principles — Inspire, Empower, Care. Champion Leader as Coach as the foundation of leadership practice, supported by the Lead, Manager Capability & Coaching role. Reimagine leadership in the age of AI, helping leaders guide hybrid teams of humans and AI while upholding inspiration, empowerment, and care. Take a system‑wide approach, ensuring these principles are reinforced across people processes (hiring, reward, performance, succession, and career architecture).
- Leadership Development Portfolio – Design and launch capstone global leadership programmes (executive, mid‑level, emerging leaders) that set a new standard in the AI age. Inventory, assess, and update existing leadership programmes. Ensure business‑specific and regional programmes are evolved and aligned with global culture, values, and leadership expectations. Build an integrated Enterprise + Business leadership development suite that meets both global consistency and regional/local needs.
- Leader‑as‑Coach & Manager Capability – Sponsor and oversee the delivery of coaching and manager capability programmes, led by the Lead, Manager Capability & Coaching. Ensure coaching is embedded as a core leadership practice through structured development, toolkits, and everyday leadership rituals. Partner with Internal Comms, Talent COE peers, and business leaders to ensure the coaching habit is reinforced by systems, processes, and recognition.
- AI‑Enabled Leadership & Innovation – Define what it means to lead in an AI‑enabled workplace (managing AI agents, ethical decision‑making, hybrid team practices). Partner with the AI Transformation Practice Lead, AI Office, and Career Architecture to integrate AI capability into leadership programmes and expectations. Position NTT DATA Inc. as a thought leader in developing next‑generation AI‑age leaders.
- Team Leadership & Governance – Build and lead a global Leadership Capability team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture. Partner with the Executive Learning Council (ELC), L&D BPs, and regional talent leaders to drive alignment and governance. Track impact and report outcomes on leadership pipeline health, manager effectiveness, and culture adoption.
Success Measures
- Enterprise‑wide leadership capability framework defined, launched, and embedded, fully aligned to How We Lead principles.
- Measurable uplift in manager and leader effectiveness, coaching behaviours, and employee growth metrics.
- Successful delivery of capstone leadership academies and refresh of existing programmes.
- Integration of AI leadership capability into global leadership standards and executive development pathways.
- NTT DATA Inc. recognised internally and externally as a benchmark for leadership development in the AI age.
Qualifications & Experience
- 12+ years in leadership development, talent management, or organisational capability roles.
- Proven experience designing and scaling global leadership programmes across geographies.
- Deep expertise in coaching, ideally ICF‑qualified or equivalent, with practical experience coaching leaders at multiple levels.
- Demonstrated experience embedding coaching frameworks and behaviours into leadership programmes and organisational culture.
- Experience embedding leadership frameworks into organisational processes (succession, mobility, performance, reward, hiring, and career architecture).
- Knowledge of future‑of‑work and AI trends, with ability to shape leadership practices in an AI‑enabled world.
- Strong team leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills with executives.
- Track record of measuring impact of leadership programmes on business performance and culture.
