As a DB2 for z/OS Systems Programmer, you will lead and support a large, multi-regional DB2 environment to ensure availability, performance, and security. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive upgrades, DR planning, and tuning in a high-stakes mainframe setting. This role offers impact across a 50+ subsystem landscape and opportunities to shape enterprise DB2 strategies. You'll work autonomously in a complex environment and mentor others where needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments
  • Support a large-scale enterprise DB2 infrastructure with multiple subsystems
  • Plan and execute version upgrades, migrations, and maintenance
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for DB2-based applications
  • Ensure stability, availability, and performance of DB2 databases and infrastructure
  • Manage DDF and distributed DB2 connectivity
  • Maintain OLTP performance with CICS and DB2
  • Develop backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Ensure storage management, archiving, and retention
  • Implement and manage database security and access governance
  • Troubleshoot complex DB2/infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with application teams on design, deployment, and problem resolution
  • Maintain documentation and operational procedures
  • Ensure supported versions of monitoring and database solutions is kept up to date
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support for incidents and maintenance activities

Key requirements:

  • 8 to 15+ years in IBM Mainframe Systems Programming with DB2 for z/OS
  • Experience supporting large-scale DB2 environments with multiple subsystems
  • DB2 installation, migration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting expertise
  • Background in banking/financial services or mission-critical environments preferred
  • Hands-on experience with CICS and DB2 in high-volume OLTP contexts
  • DB2 for z/OS, z/OS, SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF
