Your role at a glance
We are looking for an experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist – Capital Equipment to lead the procurement and program management of capital equipment for our data centre projects. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in equipment procurement, particularly within data centre infrastructure or similarly complex, large‑scale environments. In this role, you will drive end‑to‑end supply chain strategies, build and maintain strong vendor partnerships, and ensure the timely, cost‑efficient delivery of critical long‑lead equipment. This includes key assets such as generators, chillers, UPS systems, and other essential components that power our data centre operations.
What we are looking for
- Proven end‑to‑end experience procuring capital equipment (generators, chillers, UPS, etc.) including sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, contracting strategies, and how they interrelate
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment
- Highly organized, analytical, and structured, with strong communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
- Strong team player who works well both independently and collaboratively, with the ability to provide and receive clear expectations
- Understanding of basic finance and accounting principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., MCIPS) preferred
- Several years of experience in supply chain management with a focus on capital equipment
What you will do
- Execute regional supply chain strategies for data centre construction projects, including contract negotiation and performance management (inclusive of KPIs)
- Collaborate with the Global Capital Equipment team and cross‑functional partners (project management, engineering, safety, commissioning, quality) to define scope of services and technical specifications
- Lead the bid process for equipment: issue RFPs, perform bid evaluations/analysis, and select suppliers based on predetermined cost, quality, and performance criteria
- Ensure all capital equipment supplier cost data in the benchmark database is complete, accurate, and valid to support key business decisions
- Manage supplier relationships throughout the full project lifecycle, including performance tracking, business reviews, and issue resolution
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Develop and execute procurement plans, track key milestones and deliverables, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget contract awards to enable construction progress
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to supply chain team members and the broader construction organization, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Seek cross‑functional procurement training and offer supplemental support for Owner Furnished Contractor Installed electrical and mechanical equipment categories as needed
