As our Associate Paralegal (m/f/d), you'll be supporting our legal operations with a concentrated focus in construction and power. This role is ideal for someone with foundational legal training and hands-on experience in contract review, regulatory compliance, and project documentation within these sectors.
What you will do:
- Provide basic legal support on construction and power engagements and transactions.
- Assist in redlining and formatting project correspondence, contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements related to construction and energy projects.
- Support the legal team in regulatory filings, permitting processes, and compliance tracking.
- Maintain organized records of legal documents, correspondence, and project files.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., project management, procurement, engineering) to ensure legal alignment across operations.
- Monitor deadlines and manage calendars.
- Liaise closely with the Procurement/Supply Chain & Finance business teams on legal issues and standard drafting queries.
- Support with contract governance, approval and execution processes.
What we are looking for:
- Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in a legal support role, preferably in construction or energy/power industries.
- Familiarity with construction contracts (e.g., AIA, EPC) and energy-related agreements.
- Preference given to experience with FERC, OSHA, EPA, or other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Solid understanding of general legal concepts, including contract law, legal terminology, ethics and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems (Conga CLM, DocuSign CLM, or similar).
