As our Senior Legal Counsel - Procurement (m/f/d), you will be part of our NTT Global Data Centers Legal team and support the head of the global claims and litigation team in advising on and managing claims and disputes globally of NTT Data's Global Data Centers division. The role also offers the opportunity to work on other commercial legal matters, in particular the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of procurement and supplier agreements. The position sits within the Global Procurement, Litigation and Claims Management legal team, with the possibility to fully work remote.
What you will do:
- Running the day-to-day management of disputes and claims globally, with support by external legal counsel if required.
- Pre-litigation responsibilities (legal advice, constructive engagement with internal and external business partners, managing disclosures and evidence collection, mitigating risk).
- Drafting dispute and settlement related documentation (pre-contentious correspondence, notices of claim, notifications of defects, cease-and-desist letters, settlement agreements etc.).
- Reviewing and advising on reports from external counsel, providing guidance to internal business stakeholders.
- Litigation reporting and tracking, drafting memos for legal management and the wider organization, keeping them informed of key developments.
- Supporting with insurer claims notifications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement actions addressing lessons learned and mitigating litigation risk.
- Summarizing legal facts as a basis for making commercial and legal decisions.
- Management of external counsel, including selecting counsel and monitoring budget compliance.
- Conducting internal legal training and preparing internal guidelines.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified lawyer in US/UK/EU/APAC.
- Demonstrable minimum 10 years post-qualification experience (in-house or private practice) with commercial litigation matters in both common law and civil law jurisdictions, including managing complex litigation.
- Experience of working in different jurisdiction across globe especially EU and US and/or of managing US claims would be an advantage, as well as experience in construction claims.
- Perfect business and legal fluency of English is required. Excellent business knowledge of German or other foreign language is a plus.
- Experience of managing dawn raid.
- Experience of managing internal investigation.
- Experience of dealing and supporting anti-bribery and other white collar crimes.
- Option to work fully remote with the willingness to travel internationally.
