The Technical Program Manager is a key member of the NTT Global Design Standards team, working to support the team delivering standardization of NTT GID Design ‘Product’ defined Owners Project Requirements (OPR) via the Global Reference Design (GRD).
What will you do?
- Provide Regional (EMEA) and Global understanding of the activities of the Global Design Standards Team and work on intelligent solutions to streamline the activities of the team and the extended team of third party Architects and Engineers (A/E’s).
- Interface with internal stakeholders from parallel business functions, the NTT Product team and Regional Design Delivery teams and Design Managers.
- Support in Scheduling, Tracking Monitoring of Global Design Standards activity and facilitating reporting of Key Performance Metrics on an as required basis.
- Consult with members of our Engineering, Expansion, Construction, Operations, Product and Sales teams to ensure activities of the Subject Matter Expert team are supported.
- Work closely with the VP of Global Design Standards and his direct reports to drive effectiveness, efficiency and predictability and take a leading role in development of process and ensuring that process is clearly understood across the team.
- Support with monitoring and tracking ‘in flight’ projects ensuring that all projects from DD to RFS are tracked and have SME’s allocated with Design Reviews scheduled.
- Act as an administration champion for the OPR/GRD Deviations and Derogations procedure and monitor use of the same ensuring that all teams correctly maintain schedules of deviations and derogations.
- Contribute to maintenance of project dashboard reporting ensuring accuracy is maintained.
- Monitor project change and ensure that all design intercepts and change orders are correctly populated, scheduled for review and closed out.
- Monitor and contribute to the accurate reporting of GDS key objectives and KPA reporting.
What we are looking for
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an Engineering or construction related discipline.
- Membership of a professional institution recognized as relevant to the data centre sector.
- Fundamental level of understanding of data centres and or other mission critical M&E led industries.
- Experience of supporting multi national and multidiscipline design teams.
- Experience of construction procurement through a Design, Bid, Build model.
- Some knowledge of contractual and building regulation obligations.
- Ground up construction & Master planning experience.
- Ability to understand and interpret design and construction drawings/specifications, project schedules, detailed budgets and estimate summaries.
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of a construction project, specifically data centers or equivalent industrial facilities with an emphasis on Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical & AHJ engagement.
- Excellent coordination and project management, verbal, and written communications skills.
- An understanding of design and construction budgets, and how to balance design requirements to the established budget.
- Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs without sacrificing quality and reliability.
- Ability to develop and take new design concepts through detailed design, peer review, executive review, construction, and operation.
- Familiarization with AIARIBA design stages.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, drafting software (ACAD and/or Revit).
- Experience with leading using interactive design tools (e.g., BIM) and delivery methods (IPD) are a plus.
- Work during US/EMEA/ASIA business hours and time zones.
- Travel required up to 20% of time but variable.
