NTT GDC has an exciting opportunity for a Controls Expert. The Controls Lead COE is a key member of the NTT Global Design Standards team, working on and delivering translation of the NTT GID Design βProductβ defined Owners Project Requirements (OPR) into the Global Reference Design (GRD). The successful candidate will provide regional understanding of the GRD and its engineering detail as it is required to be localized and deployed through third party Architects and Engineers (A/Eβs). This is a full time hybrid permanent position.
What you will do:
- Interface with internal stakeholders from parallel business functions, the NTT Product team and regional design delivery teams and design managers.
- Support in project design reviews at all stages of project design and delivery on an as required basis.
- Consult with members of our Engineering, Expansion, Construction, Operations, Product and Sales teams to ensure optimal design decisions are made with careful assessment of risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Technical Director of Global Design Standards to drive effectiveness, efficiency and predictability at scale in the development and adoption of best practice design process and procedures.
- Support in the management of the Global Design Standards team advising on workload, prioritization and development areas.
- Land oversee complex mechanical engineering projects, from concept to execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and entry-level mechanical engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical systems for data center infrastructure.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of mechanical systems and upgrades.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in mechanical engineering and apply them to enhance our operations.
- Prepare and present technical reports and updates to senior management.
- Acknowledged technical expert in a field of design and or specification relevant to the data centre sector.
What we are looking for:
- University degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
- Membership of a professional institution recognised as relevant to the data centre sector.
- In-depth expertise in either; Controls Systems, controls sequence of operations, controls logic, BMS system architecture.
- Through understanding of M&E systems as they relate to controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for complex designs.
- Strong ability to optimize and fine-tune engineering systems for maximum efficiency.
- Highly developed understanding of CX processes and test scripts.
- Comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure and its integration with engineering systems.
- Leadership and mentorship skills for guiding other engineers internal and external.
- Proficient in managing personal and professional commitments while working with teams in different time zones.
- Extensive experience in data centres and or other mission critical M&E led industries.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary design teams preferably in a leading role.
- International experience and outlook both in type of company and project experience.
- Ideally has experience with colo and hyperscale customers.
