Your role at a glance

The Director of Construction Management is accountable for definition and implementation of best practice construction management processes, procedures and standards across our EMEA portfolio.

The role operates within a matrixed organization and structure, ensuring that NTT GDCs standards are maintained across our build program, irrespective of scale, execution partners or country of build.

  • What we are looking for
  • Accountable for definition and implementation of best practice, construction management, commissioning and QA/QC procedures, processes and guidelines for the EMEA Construction Portfolio.
  • Accountable for provision of Commissioning and QA/QC support to the construction execution teams throughout the project life cycle, including on-boarding, training and auditing of implementation of defined construction management procedures.
  • Manage a team of across CSA, MEP, ICT & Systems, Cx and Construction Transition Management, ensuring planned and structured Cx and QA/QC input and support to the project at key project intervals and milestones.
  • Provide constructability input to new and existing site development opportunities, including risk analysis input and assessments during pre-construction stage feeding into land acquisition and expansion stage requirements.
  • Provide technical input, assessment and where required perform site and capability assessments of new suppliers at PQQ and Tender stage, including but limited to definition and assessment of required technical and construction methodology submissions during same.
  • Define handover criteria and checklists aligned with NTT internal and external Client requirements, including but not limited to; MEP, ICT, Telemetry and CSA deliverables and implement project-based quality audit and general guidance documents that enable project teams to predictably plan and execute to these defined standards across the region.
  • Work with the Construction and Scheduling teams to identify key points within project execution to perform site inspections against created standards and in preparation for construction transition to operations.
  • Collaborate with Design, Construction, Commissioning and Engineering teams identify and reporting on project, supplier and regional OKRs and KPIs.
  • Identify standards within services, equipment and contractor requirements on our Data Centre projects, driving pre-positioning and working with programme managers and OFCI manager to ensure a right first-time mentality.
  • Define and implement, in co-ordination with the Quality and CX teams, Contractor and Supplier on-boarding and training that ensures pre-start alignment and awareness of execution standards and GC deliverables through the execution cycle and handover.
  • Provide CM expertise and support to the Construction and CX teams during the Commissioning and Handover phases, including but not limited to; seeking and supporting technical solutions to issues encountered, escalation support with GC, equipment suppliers and Client teams, shift and Project Management support during the CX and handover phases and operational transition team support for handover/receipt of phases.
  • Support definition and implementation of design and construction methodologies / standards from the expansion/pre and post-acquisition phase : enabling objective cost, schedule and execution strategy assessment, and follow through tactical execution development through the respective RIBA stages and GC award.
  • Align with NTTs design, engineering, and construction teams to continuously assess and implement value add opportunities for our existing and prospective projects.
  • Develop Best in Class continuous improvement processes that continuously drive improvement in cost and schedule.
