About the Role
As a Security Officer, you will report to the Security Manager and be part of our Security Officer team at our London Data Center.
Your primary duties involve ensuring the security of the Data Center sites, clients, visitors, and NTT GDC EMEA colleagues by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry.
Work will be on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
Each shift lasts 12 hours.
The day shift runs from 7:00am to 7:00pm and the night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am, including weekends and public holidays.
- Desired Skills
- Hold a valid Front-Line SIA Licence.
- Be willing to work on a 12‑hour rolling shift rota, 4 days and 4 nights including weekends and public holidays.
- Communicate effectively at all levels and possess good relationship‑building skills.
- Show initiative, inquisitive nature, good observation skills, and be unafraid to ask appropriate questions.
- Undergo full security checks under BS7858:2019.
What You Will Do
- Manage access‑control procedures to ensure only authorised personnel are permitted into the building or specific areas.
- Issue passes and collect relevant identification.
- Monitor CCTV.
- Assist in fire drills and respond to alarms.
- Ensure Health and Safety rules are always adhered to.
- Perform reception duties.
- Assist the Security Manager or Deputy Manager as required.
- Carry out any other activities reasonably required for the day‑to‑day operation of the company.
