Your role at a glance: As the Critical Facilities Maintenance (CFM) Lead Engineer you will report to the CFM Manager and be responsible for the support and delivery of Facility Management (FM) services to NTT Data Centres, ensuring operational performance and efficiency are maintained to the highest possible standards. You will manage a team of CFM Engineers, provide engineering support and guidance on property matters, and oversee day‑to‑day management and development of critical and non‑critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support and guidance on property matters affecting the ongoing management and development of NTT Data Centres.
- Manage a team of CFM Engineers, ensuring the training matrix is up‑to‑date, all planned absences are covered, and scenario drills are completed.
- Serve as the first‑line response to any critical facility incidents across the site.
- Plan, manage and implement the delivery of FM services to ensure optimal operational performance and maintain compliance to the highest standards.
- Ensure continuous development of the sites, including the creation and maintenance of Emergency Operations Procedures (EOP) and Standard Operations Procedures (SOP).
- Carry out operational and maintenance activities in a safe and compliant manner.
- Assist in resolving technical issues with site operations and act as the first level of escalation for both technical and non‑technical issues within the team.
- Support the CFM Engineering teams to ensure the correct operation of the critical services of the Data Centres.
- Act as an Authorized Person for the SSOW for both Low Voltage and High Voltage systems.
- Identify faults and accurately diagnose root causes.
Essential Qualifications:
- AP12 LV / AP15 HV Authorized Person 17th or 18th Edition certified (or comparable).
- HND or similar in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services.
- Health and Safety related qualification (e.g. IOSH – Working Safely).
- Full driving licence valid for use in the UK.
- Eligibility to undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019 standard.
- Demonstrable experience operating and fault‑finding complex and integrated M&E systems (Transformers, LV, Generators, UPS, Electrical distribution, BMS, Air Conditioning, Fire suppression systems).
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Level 2 or 3).
- F‑Gas Certification (essential for working with refrigerants).
- LV Switching experience (HV an advantage).
- Creating and developing SOP and EOP documentation and related processes.
- Strong electrical & mechanical knowledge of HVAC/chiller systems.
- Experience with commercial or industrial chillers (air or water‑cooled).
- L8 Legionella Management (company will train you to the required standard).
