NTT DATA is currently looking for a z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps for our growing team in the UK. This role offers a remote working arrangement with occasional visits to the client site in Sheffield.
Overview
An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills, to join an established and growing team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF, and Splunk
- Involvement in performance-related tasks and projects, including WLM and PR/SM changes
- Upgrading, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system
- Supporting ISV products, particularly from IBM and Broadcom vendors
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming (essential)
- Knowledge of iWS scheduling software
- Knowledge of SAS
- Desirable: knowledge of MXG and MICS
- Proficiency in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx
- Experience with IBM and Broadcom products and ability to work independently
- Excellent problem determination skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Availability for off-hours support and participation in an on-call rota
- Ability to set and achieve challenging goals, exceeding standards
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly
- Ability to build effective networks and develop trustful relationships
- Experience in creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans
- Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance
