We are looking for an experienced Unix/Linux Engineer (Level 3/4) to provide advanced support and engineering expertise for critical infrastructure and financial applications. This role involves managing complex environments, ensuring high availability and driving automation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3/L4 support for Unix/Linux systems (RHEL, Rocky Linux).
  • Support and maintain core financial applications such as Murex or other internally delivered Linux-based apps.
  • Design, implement and optimise automation using Ansible.
  • Manage containerization platforms (Docker, Podman) for application deployment.
  • Administer NetApp NFS storage and ensure optimal performance.
  • Configure and maintain HPE servers and Hitachi SAN storage.
  • Manage SAN switching and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Administer and optimize VMware virtualisation environments.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching and security hardening.
  • Document processes, configurations and troubleshooting steps.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of RHEL/Rocky Linux and enterprise-level Unix/Linux systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with Ansible, Docker/Podman and automation frameworks.
  • Expertise in NetApp NFS, HPE servers and Hitachi SAN storage.
  • Solid understanding of SAN switching and VMware virtualisation.
  • Experience supporting financial applications (e.g. Murex).
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Matric and a Degree in IT.
  • VMware Certified Professional, or equivalent.
