Overview
As DC Project Lead Engineer, you will oversee onsite technical delivery and field engineering for data-centre deployments, acting as the primary client point of contact for DC operations. You’ll lead a small, flexible engineering team to meet SLAs and deliver install, test, and handover of network, server, storage, and telecom gear. You’ll mentor junior engineers, promote safe, high-quality delivery, and coordinate with clients and carriers to resolve issues. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with scope to shape service delivery and standards.

Responsibilities
- Lead a site installation team for DC operations and field service engagements as the client’s main on-site delivery contact
- Install and decommission network, server, storage, and telecom equipment in data centres following SOPs
- Perform cabling installation and testing (fibre and copper) and terminate cables using existing infrastructure
- Ensure client-site infrastructure is configured, installed, and tested per operational solution
- Coordinate with client, carriers and colleagues to accelerate delivery and diagnose issues
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior staff
- Uplift quality by sharing and enforcing latest standards and MOPs; run toolbox talks and site briefings; ensure PPE and safety
- Monitor progress and ensure delivery meets quality standards
- Update incidents and engagements with progress/resolution details in the required platform
- Follow handover procedures for shift changes to maintain service continuity
Key requirements
- Substantial experience in technical client support
- Experience managing staff to achieve right-first-time deployments
- Knowledge of data cabling infrastructure, installation standards, and testing
- Understanding of network routing and switching
- Entry-level experience providing remote support in collaboration technologies
- Good verbal and written communication
- Strong planning and project coordination
- Positive, resilient attitude under pressure
