PMO Manager – Job Description Role Overview The PMO Manager will lead the mobilisation, coordination, and governance of a major transformation programme.
The role is responsible for establishing and operating a structured programme management office, ensuring delivery discipline, effective governance, and alignment across multiple business and functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Governance & Framework Alignment Lead the harmonisation of governance standards across multiple business entities to ensure a unified, consistent approach.
Align policies, procedures, and control frameworks to support a strengthened governance environment.
Support the redesign of the operating model, including decision rights, accountability structures, and escalation pathways.
Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Integration Embed banking‑grade risk management, compliance expectations, and regulatory oversight into programme governance and delivery processes.
Ensure risks, issues, and dependencies are proactively identified, assessed, and managed through robust PMO controls.
PMO Establishment & Delivery Management Establish and lead a fully operational PMO, including governance cadence, reporting standards, RAID management, and delivery assurance.
Develop and maintain programme plans, milestones, critical paths, and integrated delivery schedules.
Provide clear, concise, and actionable reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management Manage stakeholder engagement across business, functional, and leadership groups to ensure alignment and adoption of programme objectives.
Coordinate communications, change activities, and cross‑functional collaboration to support smooth implementation.
Facilitate governance meetings, working groups, and decision‑making forums.
Skills & Experience Proven experience managing PMOs within complex, multi‑entity or regulated environments.
Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and organisational controls.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement operating models, governance structures, and programme processes.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑visibility transformation programmes with multiple senior stakeholders.
