Overview
As Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, you own the outcome across complex, enterprise engagements, aligning executive, business, and technical stakeholders to measurable results. You shape discovery, solution design, and production delivery, bringing together Forward Deployed, product, transformation, and platform capabilities. You provide senior technical and strategic judgment to reduce ambiguity and guide significant customer investments. You’ll mentor teams, drive reusable assets, and influence scalable delivery in a high-ambiguity environment.

Responsibilities
- Define strategic objectives and measurable outcomes with executive and technical stakeholders
- Lead discovery, assessment, and solution shaping to build a portfolio of validated opportunities
- Maintain the outcome framework across engagements (ownership, baselines, target measures, dependencies)
- Direct rapid prototyping, experiments, and demonstrations focused on value-critical assumptions
- Provide senior technical and solution judgment across AI, data, integration, security, governance, and scalability
- Shape production-ready opportunities with architecture direction, backlog, estimates, governance, and mobilisation
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a senior advisor to simplify complexity
- Orchestrate multidisciplinary FDEs and teams across functions around a single customer outcome
- Resolve complex challenges through structured problem-solving and escalation as needed
- Identify high-value opportunities using domain context, strategy, and feasibility
- Determine delivery routes (AI Studio, products, transformation, or partnerships)
- Maintain executive-level outcome stewardship as work moves into delivery and operation
- Assure delivery quality, customer readiness, and transition to scalable models
- Translate field learnings into reusable patterns, assets, and improved methods
- Develop FDE capability through mentoring, accreditation input, and knowledge sharing
- Work may involve on-site, office, or hybrid delivery depending on engagement needs
Key requirements
- 10+ years in AI/software engineering, solution architecture, consulting, or related roles with senior customer-facing responsibility
- Proven track record leading complex enterprise engagements and building trusted executive relationships
- Experience as a senior Forward Deployed practitioner or equivalent across multiple engagements
- Proven ability to shepherd opportunities from discovery to production shaping and measurable impact
- Experience directing prototypes, proof points, and experiments focusing on critical value assumptions
- Experience shaping enterprise solutions involving architecture, AI, data, security, governance, and deployment
