NTT DATA is seeking a strategic, business-oriented, and technology-driven Account CTO / Enterprise Architect to lead digital transformation engagements for clients across the Energy & Utilities sector. This role acts as the senior technology advisor and trusted partner to client executives, business leaders, and IT organizations, helping shape enterprise-wide transformation strategies that align technology investments with business outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines deep industry expertise with broad technical leadership across Enterprise Applications, Cloud Native modernization, Cybersecurity & Zero Trust architectures, Data & AI transformation, and emerging digital platforms. The Account CTO / Enterprise Architect will collaborate with account teams, delivery organizations, alliance partners, and client stakeholders to define and execute transformational technology roadmaps. This role requires executive presence, strong consultative capabilities, enterprise architecture expertise, and the ability to translate complex technology strategies into measurable business value.
What you'll be doing:
- Strategic Technology Leadership
- Serve as the primary technology strategist and trusted advisor for Energy & Utilities clients.
- Develop multi-year enterprise transformation roadmaps aligned to business priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational modernization goals.
- Provide executive-level thought leadership across digital transformation initiatives including modernization, automation, resiliency, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Engage with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Chief Digital Officers, and business executives to shape strategic technology investments.
- Lead enterprise architecture governance and technology decision frameworks.
- Identify innovation opportunities leveraging cloud, AI, IoT, advanced analytics, automation, and digital platforms.
- Enterprise Architecture & Solution Strategy
- Define target-state enterprise architectures spanning applications, infrastructure, security, integration, data, and operations.
- Lead architecture assessments, capability maturity evaluations, and transformation planning.
- Develop reference architectures, modernization blueprints, and technology standards.
- Ensure alignment between business capabilities, operating models, and technology platforms.
- Guide large-scale modernization initiatives including ERP, CRM, asset management, and operational platforms.
- Drive interoperability between IT and OT environments.
- Enterprise Applications Transformation
- Lead modernization strategies across enterprise platforms including SAP (S/4HANA, SAP IS-U), Oracle Utilities, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, ServiceNow Work & Asset Management platforms, Customer Information Systems (CIS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and Grid & Operations platforms.
- Drive application rationalization and modernization initiatives.
- Establish API-first and event-driven integration strategies.
- Promote composable architecture and platform engineering practices.
- Cloud Native & Platform Engineering
- Define cloud transformation strategies leveraging AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Lead cloud-native modernization initiatives using microservices, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, and DevSecOps.
- Design resilient, scalable, and secure enterprise platforms.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, SRE practices, and platform automation.
- Guide multi-cloud governance, FinOps, observability, and cloud operating models.
- Zero Trust & Cybersecurity Architecture
- Lead Zero Trust transformation strategies across enterprise and operational technology environments.
- Develop security architectures aligned to NIST, IEC 62443, CIS, and industry compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Security Operations modernization, OT security segmentation, and Threat detection and response.
- Ensure cybersecurity is embedded throughout transformation programs.
- Data, AI & Digital Transformation
- Define enterprise data strategies and AI transformation roadmaps.
- Lead modern data platform architectures including data lakes, lakehouses, real-time analytics, and streaming platforms.
- Drive AI and GenAI adoption use cases including Predictive maintenance, Intelligent operations, Grid optimization, Customer engagement, Workforce productivity, Sustainability analytics, and Digital twins.
- Promote responsible AI governance, data quality, and enterprise data management.
- Lead data modernization initiatives integrating OT, IoT, enterprise, and customer data ecosystems.
- Client Engagement & Business Development
- Support strategic account planning and growth initiatives.
- Participate in executive briefings, workshops, and transformation advisory engagements.
- Contribute to business development, proposals, solution positioning, and executive presentations.
- Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to shape large-scale transformation programs.
- Develop trusted relationships with client executives and technology stakeholders.
- Represent NTT DATA at industry events, conferences, and client forums.
- Delivery Oversight & Governance
- Provide architecture oversight for large and complex transformation programs.
- Ensure solution quality, scalability, security, and operational alignment.
- Support program governance, risk management, and transformation execution.
- Mentor architecture teams and promote enterprise architecture best practices.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and reusable industry assets.
What experience you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology consulting, or CTO-level advisory roles.
- 8+ years supporting Energy & Utilities clients.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of utility business domains including Power generation, Transmission & distribution, Smart grid, Renewable energy, Oil & gas operations, Customer operations, Field services, and Asset management.
- Deep expertise across Enterprise applications, Cloud architecture, Cybersecurity & Zero Trust, Data & AI platforms, Integration architectures, and Digital operations.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience with modern engineering practices including DevSecOps and platform engineering.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence C-level decision-making.
- Strong presentation, workshop facilitation, and consulting skills.
It would be great if you had:
- Master’s degree in Technology, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Industry certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect certifications, CISSP, SABSA, SAFe, and Kubernetes certifications.
- Experience with utility regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with OT/ICS architectures and industrial cybersecurity.
- Experience working within global system integrators or consulting organizations.
- Exposure to sustainability, ESG, and smart infrastructure initiatives.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including GenAI, edge computing, IoT, and digital twins.
