NTT DATA is currently looking for an az/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills , to join our growing team in the UK. This role involves working remotely and on-site at the client location in Sheffield.
Overview
An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills, to join an established and growing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF, and Splunk
- Involvement in performance-related tasks and projects such as WLM, PR/SM changes
- Upgrading, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system
- Supporting ISV products from vendors like IBM and Broadcom
Candidate requirements:
- Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming
- Knowledge of iWS scheduling software and SAS
- Knowledge of MXG and MICS (desirable)
- Proficiency in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx
- Experience with IBM and Broadcom products, able to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and team orientation
- Availability for off-hours support and on-call duties
- Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate complex information
- Ability to build effective networks and develop mutual trust
- Experience in creating and deploying business/operating plans
- Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance
DevOps skills (at least some of the following):
- Github, Ansible, Nexus, Hashicorp Vault, Zowe, z/OSMF, Python, APIs, Grafana, Splunk
Additional skills (not essential but preferred):
- Assembler, Automation, Job Scheduling, ACF2/RACF, GDPS, SAS, MXG
