Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Technical Consultant with strong expertise in CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping and Event Management to join our growing ServiceNow practice. You will play a key role in designing, developing and implementing scalable ServiceNow solutions that provide accurate service visibility, operational insight and automation for enterprise customers. Working alongside Solution Architects, Business Analysts and Project Managers, you will translate business requirements into high-quality technical solutions whilst following ServiceNow best practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex technical challenges, enjoy working directly with customers and be comfortable delivering across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand business requirements and translate user stories into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design, configure and develop ServiceNow solutions across CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping and Event Management.
  • Build and maintain robust Discovery schedules, MID Server configurations and Discovery patterns.
  • Configure and maintain an accurate and healthy CMDB, ensuring data quality, governance and compliance with CSDM principles.
  • Design and implement Service Mapping to provide end-to-end visibility of critical business services and application dependencies.
  • Configure Event Management, including event rules, alert correlation, connector integrations and operational dashboards.
  • Develop custom ServiceNow applications, workflows, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes and integrations where required.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with third-party monitoring, cloud and infrastructure platforms using REST, SOAP and IntegrationHub.
  • Support ServiceNow platform upgrades, releases and enhancements in line with platform best practices.
  • Perform technical testing, troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, solution designs and knowledge articles.
  • Collaborate with developers, consultants, architects and customer stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives and daily stand-ups.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through the ServiceNow platform.
  • Mentor junior consultants and share technical knowledge across the wider practice where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with ServiceNow releases, certifications and emerging technologies.

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale CMDB and ITOM implementations.
  • Experience implementing Discovery and Service Mapping across complex environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Excellent understanding of infrastructure technologies including Windows, Linux, networking, virtualisation and cloud platforms.
  • Experience integrating monitoring tools into Event Management.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently whilst collaborating within distributed project teams.
  • Customer-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
