Sydrogen Energy is a new subsidiary of Nanofilm Technologies group with the substantial backing of Temasek Investment Holdings. Sydrogen will develop and manufacture components and systems of fuel cells needed in the hydrogen economy by leveraging the coating technologies and manufacturing capabilities of Nanofilm. Building off a strong foundation of both parents, Sydrogen will bring to market new game changing green energy systems. Riding the interest and efforts behind climate change and green economy, Sydrogen is well positioned for growth and supporting a transition to greener energy sources.
Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will drive the sales and market adoption of Sydrogen power solution business by engaging customers, managing distributors where necessary, and supporting pilot deployments, ensuring continued business momentum and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis for power generator solutions: market sizing, segmentation, competitive positioning, and identification of priority customer segments and application opportunities.
- Engage potential customers, conduct technical discussions, qualify opportunities, and manage sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
- Prepare and deliver quotations, technical-commercial proposals, value-based pricing recommendations, and product presentations.
- Lead customer acquisition through proactive prospecting, relationship development, and management of complex technical-commercial sales cycles.
- Support pilot installations, commissioning activities, and after-sales service coordination with Operations team.
- Develop and manage relationships with distributors, system integrators, and regional channel partners to expand market reach.
- Manage key accounts within priority segments, ensuring customer satisfaction, repeat business, and account growth.
- Develop business cases for strategic opportunities and pilot projects, providing commercial justification for investments.
- Collect and systematically communicate customer feedback and market insights to Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap priorities.
- Travel to customer sites, partners, and industry events according to business development needs.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, or related technical fields.
- 10-15 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or application engineering roles in B2B industrial markets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical-commercial sales cycles from prospecting to close.
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts into customer value propositions.
- Proficiency in English; Familiarity with Asian markets and teammates is a bonus.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment with evolving priorities.
- Experience with hydrogen systems, fuel cells, power generation equipment, or adjacent clean energy technologies.
- Track record of developing new market segments or launching new products.
- Experience managing distributor or channel partner relationships.
- Previous startup experience with demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats.
- Familiarity with value-based pricing and business case development.
