The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
Responsible for fault finding and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including low pressure hot and cold water systems, associated equipment, natural gas systems and building management services. Performs complex and non-routine plumbing activities and undertakes maintenance repairs, minor improvements and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with trust safety standards and procedures. The role supports a busy hospital environment and requires IT literacy and strong Mechanical Plumbing and Engineering knowledge to join the estates team.
Responsibilities
- Fault finding and calibration on engineering plant and equipment (including low pressure water systems, natural gas systems and building management services).
- Planned preventative maintenance, general repairs, Energy Centre checks and responding to high-priority emergencies to ensure continuity of service.
- Operate in accordance with decontamination requirements (CFPP01 HTM 2010/2030) and HTM04 Water Supplies; prepared to work in hazardous areas with appropriate safety measures.
- Actively participate in operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
- Contribute to NHS labour control schemes (Planet) by completing required documentation in paper and electronic PDA format.
- Work overtime and undertake on-call/shift duties as part of the team to ensure emergency repairs are attended out of normal hours.
- Carry out tasks so as not to pose risk or inconvenience to patients, staff and visitors, maintaining a safe and secure environment within constraints of budget and time.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential qualifications required for the post are outlined in the Person Specification; you will be required to hold and provide evidence of the necessary qualifications at interview if shortlisted. Personal references are not acceptable. The role may require Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks as part of the recruitment process.
