With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals, and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees, and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield, as well as community, therapeutic, and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Job overview

To work closely with the Staffing Systems Lead and Senior Management to implement staffing systems to all staff groups, particularly Nursing and Midwifery, and lead on projects within the team to enhance utilisation of staffing solutions across the organisation. To provide technical support to all trust users, working closely with clinical and non-clinical services to evaluate and monitor system utilisation in line with strategic objectives. Liaising with area managers to address issues and resolve queries in order to ensure a standardised and effective approach. To play an active role in providing quality assurances across the Healthroster suite, highlighting KPI data and compliance levels within Safecare Live data, to ensure safe staffing is achieved across the Trust and that the systems are utilised maximally. To co-ordinate all temporary staffing requests, ensuring financial and framework compliance in line with NHSI recommendations.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the Trust Staffing Systems Lead on the implementation and monitoring of Staffing Solution projects and associated work concerning the E-Rostering and NHSP system. To assist where necessary in delivering strategic projects in line with NHSI recommendation, such as Lord Care E-Rostering Efficiencies and Levels Of Attainment requirements.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support Staffing System Support staff and area managers to identify and achieve key performance targets from a local and national perspective; working together to ensure KPIs are measurable and realistic. To provide training on the use of the reporting functionality within the E-Rostering system ensuring a thorough understanding of monitored KPIs and performance management. To interrogate and analyse all associated systems to produce relevant performance reports based on all aspects of roster production, temporary staffing, and management. Have the ability to produce a range of reports upon user request, along with having a thorough understanding of the data provided. Analyse system reports and use of the Yellowfin Dashboard to identify data quality metrics and proactively approach performance issues with end users, Ward Managers, and Senior Clinical Matrons. Attend all relevant training with suppliers for major system updates and changes to ensure system continuity. Plan and deliver training for existing and new practices for the E-Rostering system and associated systems to end users and other colleagues. Support, motivate & advise users as they adapt to new working practices involving the use of electronic processes. Plan and schedule work to deliver tasks required within the project plan to timescale, evaluating & developing own practice. Responsible for providing the highest standard of professional knowledge and technical input whilst attending senior clinical team meetings. To support the senior nursing team in the requesting and co-ordination of temporary staffing requests to support trust pressures in times of escalation. Liaising with third-party agencies to ensure system set up is HTE Framework and NHSI compliant. To be an integral part of the interview process for internal recruitment of staff. To assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment through appropriate and secure use of information technology. The duties of the post will be subject to addition or alteration at any time appropriate with the grade of the job.
