The Intensive Care Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of patients requiring level 2 and level 3 care under indirect supervision from senior staff. General and specialised direct nursing care is expected in accordance with policies, procedures, and protocols of the organisation.
Main Duties
- Supervise and support the multidisciplinary care team, provide skilled nursing care to level 2 and level 3 patients, and assist in advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal support.
- The unit manages ten level 3 and six level 2 patients and offers an Outreach service.

- Use effective communication in clinical practice with a caring attitude.
- Utilise communication aids for complex patients who find it difficult to communicate.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure communication takes into account level of understanding, culture, and background.
