This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious enthusiastic individual to work in the Procurement & Supplies Department within North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions, joining a constantly developing function. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality customer service, and support an efficient operation of a stock replenishment, receipt, storage & distribution service within the North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, working under the supervision of the Integrated Inventory Team Leader.
We are looking for an individual with flair and commitment who embraces continuous improvement. A flexible approach is also essential as there will be a requirement to work at both our North Tees & Hartlepool hospital sites. The successful candidate must be computer literate with experience of using electronic Inventory Management Software and the Microsoft Office Suite of business applications. The role requires the candidate to have knowledge and experience of stock control, supplies/stores functions and providing excellent levels of customer service. The ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation is an essential requirement. This is a challenging, hands-on role that involves significant physical activity and a fast-paced working environment.
Main duties of the job include:
- To provide a high quality service and support an efficient operation of stock receipt, storage, distribution, ordering of stock and replenishment service working under the Integrated Inventory Team Leaders instructions.
- The Integrated Inventory Assistant has particular responsibility for:
- Providing a Materials Management service to defined areas
- Timely receipt and distribution of goods
- The post holder will be expected to work independently and as part of the team to ensure the service runs efficiently, reporting directly to the Integrated Inventory Team Leader.
- A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities include:
- Undertake materials management activities as directed by duly authorised personnel on either site, to include re-stocking once stock received
- Requisition of goods to maintain regular stock levels, to include stock and non-stock items.
- Receipt, checking, booking in and delivery of goods
- Keeping accurate, relevant records regarding goods received and delivered
- Ensure safe storage of goods
- Ensure product standardisation where appropriate
- Action inabilities report
- Provide assistance with respect to product recalls
- To recognise and advise Trust personnel of any inconsistencies on delivery notes or official orders.
- Undertake monthly stock evaluations
- Advise and assist staff regarding information required / emergency issues
- Liaise with internal and external agencies regarding stock enquiries
- Carry out stock counts at the best time to suit the Trust
- Work closely with other staff within the function to promote and ensure efficient and cohesive delivery of service, including other duties that may reasonable be required to ensure continued delivery of service
Qualifications required include:
- GCSE Maths - Pass
Experience required includes:
- Experience in stores environment
- Experience of materials/stock management
- Use of computerised systems
- Experience of working within the NHS or other public sector organisation
- Use of computerised stock management systems
Skills required include:
- Good communication skills – ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
