An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer Theatre Lead role at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust joining a dedicated team of clinical staff to support the provision of patient care. We are looking for an experienced theatre radiographer to lead the coordination between radiology and theatre to provide an effective and efficient service whilst adhering to departmental protocols and ensuring optimum patient care. The candidate will also maintain their clinical skills and continue to take part in cross-site rotation and shift system and maintain skills in plain film radiography and theatre work.

Main duties of the job:

  • To contribute towards the provision of a high-quality Imaging Service, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards of service and care.
  • You will work closely with other members of the team including radiologists, radiographers, assistants and theatre staff.
  • You will be involved in the teaching of students and more junior members of staff to oversee staff competencies in theatre radiography.
  • The post holder will also participate in the equipment QA programme.
  • The Trust operates a 24/7 shift system (12 hour days, 12 hour nights and some 7.5 hour day shifts) which the post holder would be expected to participate in.

  • This post is deemed to require an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check.

Working hours:

If the hours advertised for the post are up to full-time (37.5 hours per week), applications are still welcomed from individuals who may be seeking to work less than full-time hours and all requests will be considered in line with the post being appointed to for the successful applicant.

Database and background checks:

All successful candidates who are new to the Trust and require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered will be required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The cost will be deducted from your first month's pay on commencement with the Trust and the DBS check will be undertaken during the pre-employment check screening.
