We are seeking a dynamic registered Respiratory Specialist Nurse or Physiotherapist to join our highly specialised respiratory team at North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves delivering high‑quality care to patients with respiratory disease across North Tees, both in clinic and in their homes, covering maternity leave in a fixed term position.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide proactive, specialist assessment and management of patients with complex respiratory presentations.
  • Develop and implement pathway‑based interventions in partnership with senior clinicians.
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessment and review, including in‑home visits, and ensure timely follow‑up.
  • Collaborate with hospital teams and wider multidisciplinary team, maintaining effective communication.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet patient needs.

Person specification:

  • Registered Respiratory Nurse or Physiotherapist with recent respiratory care training.
  • Experience in community‑based respiratory care, including asthma, pulmonary rehabilitation, or home oxygen service.
  • Strong clinical assessment, management and patient education skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
