Nter Talent is partnering with a leading branded FMCG business to recruit a Senior Category Manager on a 14-month fixed-term contract. Operating within a fast-paced, insight-led environment, the business is continuing to invest heavily across its commercial and operational functions, with ambitious growth plans across the UK market.
This role will take ownership of a key Grocery account, leading category strategy and delivering insight-led recommendations that drive growth for both the retailer and the wider business.
The Opportunity
This is a senior customer-facing Category role sitting within the Marketing & Category function. You will act as the lead category contact for a major Grocery retailer, working closely with internal stakeholders and customer teams to influence ranging, merchandising, promotional activity and overall category performance. The role offers strong visibility internally, significant retailer exposure and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, commercially driven category team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead category relationships with a major Grocery customer, providing insight that drives action
- Deliver range reviews, space recommendations and category growth initiatives
- Translate shopper, category and market data into clear commercial recommendations
- Own category reporting, scorecards and performance tracking
- Support Sales and Marketing teams with insight-led recommendations and customer plans
- Build compelling category stories using tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, Circana or similar platforms
- Identify opportunities for growth across ranging, merchandising, promotions and NPD
- Act as the voice of the customer and shopper internally, ensuring plans align with retailer priorities
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within Category Management in FMCG, ideally within Grocery or food and drink
- Strong experience working with major UK retailers
- Confident using insight and data tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, Circana or similar
- Ability to turn data into commercially compelling stories and recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
- Experience leading or contributing to range reviews and category reporting
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, change-led environment
