️ Manufacturing Engineer 📍 Location: Manchester 💰 Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 📅 Contract: Permanent Nter Talent is supporting our client in the search for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Bridge Systems team in Manchester. This is a key role focused on developing and implementing manufacturing process improvements, driving efficiency, and supporting major capital projects across Bridges – while also providing support to Boxer programmes where required. Opportunity to make a direct impact within a leading defence manufacturer Blend of hands-on shop floor work and process improvement leadership Exposure to large-scale automation and capital investment projects Play a central role in delivering continuous improvement across production What You’ll Be Doing: Develop and implement revised factory layouts to optimise flow and reduce waste Provide hands-on engineering support to the build process on the shop floor Resolve fabrication and assembly quality issues with robust, timely solutions Explore and deliver automation opportunities for efficiency and quality gains Improve dimensional stability through effective jigging, fixturing, and alignment Lead and implement quality and manufacturing improvement programmes Drive efficiency and reduce build hours per product through lean initiatives Coordinate cross-functional projects to optimise cost and performance Support structured problem-solving and process improvement activities Provide design-for-manufacturing input during early product development Ensure compliance with EHS, manufacturing, and quality standards Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) What We’re Looking For: Degree, HND, or Higher/Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Proven experience in complex engineering or industrial manufacturing environments Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting tools (3D CAD an advantage) SAP planning and BOM structuring experience Experience introducing automation and managing capital investment projects Knowledge of welding (aluminium and ferrous metals) and GD&T interpretation Jig and fixture design experience Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Hands-on, flexible, and calm under pressure
