This is a proper step-up opportunity for a commercially strong FM leader who wants more than simply running a contract. I’m partnering with a fast-growing Facilities Management business looking for a Senior Operations Manager to take ownership of a significant public-sector portfolio.
You’ll be responsible for the full performance of the business unit — people, clients, growth, service delivery and profitability. This isn’t a role where you’ll just maintain what’s already there.
You’ll be expected to:
- Set and deliver the strategy for the business unit
- Lead and develop a team of Account Managers
- Own budgeting, forecasting and overall P&L performance
- Build senior relationships across key public-sector clients
- Drive contract retention, organic growth and additional services
- Improve operational performance across dedicated and shared-service models
- Identify opportunities to do things differently through technology and innovation
- Create a culture of accountability, pace and continuous improvement
Who are we looking for?
You’ll ideally be operating as an:
- Account Director
- Contract Director
- Regional Account Director
- Business Unit Director
- Senior Operations Leader within Facilities Management or outsourced services
The key requirement is genuine experience working across the public sector. You’ll need to demonstrate:
- Senior client and stakeholder management
- Multi-site or multi-contract leadership
- Strong commercial and financial capability
- Budget and P&L ownership
- Experience developing operational teams
- A track record of improving performance, retaining contracts or growing accounts
You don’t necessarily need to already be a Business Unit Director. If you’re a high-performing Account Director who has successfully run complex public-sector contracts and feels ready to take ownership of an entire business unit, this could be a very strong next move.
Package:
- Contributory pension
- Clear progression pathway
- Ongoing learning & development
The business is growing, ambitious and looking for someone who wants to make an impact rather than simply keep the wheels turning.
