The Role: Business Development Manager β Utilities
We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth across the energy/utility sector. This field-based role focuses on building and managing a strong partner network, acquiring new business, and driving commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
Building and Managing Partner Networks:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new strategic business/lead generation partners
Negotiate partnership terms and develop long-term collaboration strategies
Monitor partner performance and implement improvements or new opportunities
Develop joint go-to-market plans with partners
Driving New Business Growth:
Develop and execute strategies that drive new customer acquisition through partners
Create compelling value propositions backed by strong market insight
Manage the full sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure
Relationship Management:
Build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Reporting & Analytics:
Track partner network performance and new business metrics
Analyse front-book growth and provide insights to shape future strategies
What Weβre Looking For
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the energy sector, including renewables, utilities, and the energy transition
Awareness of smart grids, storage, EV infrastructure, and related trends
Familiarity with energy market regulations and dynamics
Experience:
Proven background in business development, sales, or partner management in the energy sector
Track record of building strategic relationships and delivering commercial growth
Experience with CRM systems (currently HubSpot, transitioning to Salesforce)
Skills:
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
