Are you an experienced maintenance leader ready to step up and own the day-to-day delivery of maintenance across a major industrial site? This is a genuine leadership opportunity within a well-established heavy industrial operation in the Highlands, where you'll take charge of coordinating priorities, resources and people across the whole maintenance function.
The Role
- As Maintenance Supervisor you will support the Head of Department and set the priorities and pace for planned, urgent and breakdown work across all plant areas.
- You'll manage and hold Department Engineers accountable for delivery and performance, while staying closely plugged into what's actually happening on the ground - schedule adherence, work quality, backlog and repeat failures.
- It's a role that blends people leadership with hands-on reliability thinking, working in close partnership with Operations and reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading safe day-to-day maintenance delivery across all plant areas.
- Setting priorities and coordinating planned, urgent and breakdown work and resources site-wide.
- Managing and supporting Department Engineers, holding them accountable for delivery and performance.
- Coordinating craft resources and apprentices across departments, including apprentice mentoring and development towards time-served competency.
- Monitoring weekly schedule delivery, work quality, CMMS compliance and overall maintenance performance.
- Reviewing breakdowns, backlog, preventive maintenance and repeat failures, and ensuring actions are followed through.
- Acting as the day-to-day interface with Operations on priorities, plant condition and recovery.
- Escalating significant safety, environmental, operational, reliability and resource risks to the Maintenance Manager.
- Overseeing significant contractors and supporting shutdowns, projects, plant modifications and new equipment installations.
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager with maintenance strategy, resource planning and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Solid engineering maintenance experience in a heavy engineering environment, with a mechanical or electrical bias.
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing engineering staff.
- Strong understanding of planned, reactive and reliability-centred maintenance.
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Knowledge of industrial process plant, relevant standards and technical procedures.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance performance measures.
- Strong leadership, communication, prioritisation and coaching skills.
- Experience mentoring apprentices and developing technical competence.
- COMAH experience desirable.
