Health & Safety Advisor

Glasgow area | Permanent | Excellent package

Our client is an ambitious, fast-paced manufacturer behind some of Scotland's best-known brands. They're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to take ownership of safety across one of their largest sites in the Glasgow area.

It's a busy site with a lot of people, so you'll need strong communication and influencing skills. You'll be working with teams at every level and training them in new ways of working. There's a real focus on machine and line safety, so experience of production line safety in a manufacturing environment would be a big plus.

You'll join a well-established team, so there's plenty of support and the chance to learn from experienced colleagues. The site runs a wide range of processes, which makes it a great place to broaden your experience, and there's genuine career progression for the right person.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the H&S strategy through data analysis and keeping on top of upcoming legislation
  • Advising the business on legislative changes
  • Reporting on key safety metrics, spotting trends and building action plans with continuous improvement at the core
  • Controlling site works from an H&S perspective-permit to work, contractor control, risk assessments, incident investigation, management of change and emergency response
  • Supporting occupational health surveillance based on a defined risk matrix
  • Delivering regulatory and awareness H&S training in line with the Competency Framework
  • Driving continuous improvement across the H&S Framework and Integrated Management System
  • Coordinating external regulators, auditors and third-party consultants, making sure actions are closed out on time
  • Working closely with colleagues and getting involved in team meetings and problem-solving activities

What we're looking for

  • Solid H&S experience gained in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of machine guarding and production line safety
  • Confidence to influence and train people across a large, busy site
  • A data-led, continuous improvement mindset
