We are delighted to be supporting our client in the distilling industry in Speyside as they look to strengthen their automation team with the appointment of a number of Controls Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring the continued operation, optimisation and improvement of multiple distillery sites across the region. The team plays a critical role in keeping production running smoothly while delivering automation improvements, commissioning new systems and supporting major capital projects.

The Role

As a Control Engineer, you will work across a network of distillery sites supporting automation systems and plant operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the operation and reliability of distillery automation systems
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
  • Working on automation improvements and process optimisation projects
  • Supporting commissioning and automation upgrades across sites
  • Contributing to capital projects and plant improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with wider engineering and project teams

You will also play a key role in ensuring plants remain operational and efficient while helping deliver long-term improvements to automation systems.

The Team

You will join an experienced team of Control Engineers who support a number of distillery sites across the region, covering approximately a 40-mile radius. The role offers excellent variety, working across both operational support and project-based automation work.

What We’re Looking For

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • A time-served electrical background
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled systems
  • Strong fault-finding skills within automated environments
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • The ability to work autonomously and under pressure when required

Candidates from manufacturing, process, automation, industrial electrical backgrounds preferably but other backgrounds will all be considered.
