What you’ll be doing: As a key member of the Area Community Risk team, the Area Planning & Fire Behaviour Officer provides expert advice to the Manager and Districts to support Area wide bush fire hazard mitigation activities and fire fighting operations. You will play a crucial role developing prescribed burn plans and supporting the implementation of critical hazard reduction burns across five fire Districts.
Our ideal candidate: You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be highly self-motivated, and able to prioritise your own workload whilst working cross-functionally to achieve Area outcomes. With a keen interest in weather and fire behaviour, you will apply your strong critical thinking skills to analyse and interpret complex data, identify trends and communicate insights that support informed decision-making and contribute to proactive fire mitigation strategies.
