About the Role: This position is suitable for either an early career or well-established Podiatrist looking to develop their high-risk foot clinical skills. You will be well supported by the team and will be provided regular group and individual supervision as part of the role. The role covers all aspects of Podiatry and includes seeing patients for neurovascular assessments (including toe brachial indices on every patient), wound care, charcot-neuroarthropathy management, critical limb ischaemia, general care and nail surgery. The team works with multiple specialities both face to face and via telehealth to provide better outcomes for our patients.
Where you’ll be working: The New England Podiatry service provides Podiatry care to a number of key sites in the New England region with the support of the Royal Flying Doctors Service. The team has a strong commitment to Closing the Gap and, together with the Aboriginal Health Practitioner, received an award for the Healthy Deadly Feet Program. The New England region of NSW is known for its impressive landscape and historic small country towns. It is a large farming region with incredible bushwalking tracks, beautiful National Parks and spectacular waterfalls. If you love country music, you’ll love Tamworth, with museums and memorabilia on all aspects of the genre. The New England region is the beating heart of country NSW, and offers everything that city life offers, without the traffic and queues.

Requirements: Podiatrist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA. Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel within the LHD.
Additional information: An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part-time vacancies. To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. Information for Applicants: All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
