Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and analyse relevant health data (administrative, registry, cohort, linked) and literature to inform modelling approaches and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Conduct advanced data analyses and modelling, including the design, implementation, and validation of statistical, predictive and simulation models to evaluate Models of Care, interventions, and system-wide initiatives.
  • Interpret modelling and analysis results, providing clear, evidence-based insights to inform interventions, resourcing strategies, and clinical redesign projects.
  • Communicate findings effectively through high-quality visualisations, dashboards, reports, and presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you will be doing

The Data and Statistical Analyst is responsible for the provision of sophisticated health related data analysis, modelling and interpretation which will be used to inform strategic projects of the ACI. A core function of the position is to ensure that the analysis undertaken is comprehensive, utilises relevant data sources and stakeholder appropriate.

  • Employment Type: Full Time Exempt (Until June 2027)
  • Position Classification: Health Manager Level 3
  • Remuneration: $127,150.00 – $144,444.00 per annum excluding Superannuation
  • Hours Per Week: 40 (38 standard + 2hrs toward ADO)

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent expertise, with demonstrated capability in programming (e.g. R, SAS, Python), advanced data preparation, and the development, validation, and application of advance statistical (e.g. multilevel and Bayesian), machine learning, and simulation models using multiple health-related data sources.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with health data collections, including an understanding of their strengths, limitations, and applications in health service delivery and system improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clinicians, senior management, and external stakeholders to design analyses and deliver projects.
  • High-level communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, visualisations, dashboards (e.g. Power BI), and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
