In this role, you'll:

  • Work as part of a team delivering innovative drone operations that support incident response, major events, maritime activities, infrastructure inspections and critical transport operations across NSW.
  • Operate advanced RPAS platforms and payloads in both field-based and remote environments.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Australian-first autonomous drone capabilities, support BVLOS Drone-in-a-Box operations from our Remote Operations Centre and help shape the future of drone services across Sydney and regional NSW.
  • Pioneer new ways of delivering situational awareness, safety and operational efficiencies through cutting-edge drone technology in a dynamic, highly regulated and operationally critical environment.

This role is a temporary opportunity up to 2 years, joining the Drone Operations Team in Leichhardt, Sydney.

About you

Your commercial RPAS experience, aviation safety mindset and strong communication skills will see you thrive in this dynamic operational environment. You bring at least two years' commercial drone experience, a strong understanding of aviation regulations and RPAS legislation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. You're a safety-focused aviation professional, skilled at delivering drone operations in complex environments and committed to operational excellence. Holding a Sub-25kg Remote Pilot License (RePL), Aeronautical Radio Operator’s Certificate (AROC) and a current Australian driver's licence, you'll be willing to travel regularly and work outside standard business hours. Experience with BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) and EVLOS (Extended Line of Sight) operations will be highly regarded, while IREX (Instrument Rating Examination) certification or CASA BVLOS OCTA is desirable.
